Greatest Gift of God: Eternal Life

"For the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord"
                                                                                                           -Romans 6:23

Some may think that they’re not too bad because they haven’t committed any terrible sins, such as murder, adultery, or child abuse.  In fact, by comparing themselves to others who are worse, they can seem to be pretty good.  But all sins are horrible in God’s sight.  Actually, the problem is not individual sins, but the sin nature, our self-centered attitude.  And all people are sinners – we all fall short of God’s ideal see (Rom. 3:23).  So no matter how much better than others we might be, we still stand condemned in our guild.  But the good news is that we can be saved from our sins; we can have eternal life through Christ.

God offers us eternal life through Christ.  This eternal life means living with God forever after we die physically.  But it also means having a new life now while we are alive on earth.  Jesus said that He came to bring life, abundant and full (John 10:10).  That means life with purpose, having a reason to live and seeing God work in and through us.  Sin leads to death, but Christ leads to life.

Have you been wondering what life is all about?  Have you been searching for a meaning for your existence? If we believe that life was created for a reason. If life simply evolved on Earth by accident, if we just happen to be here, then life cannot have any meaning. Life can only have meaning if it was created for a purpose. If there is no Creator, then there can be no meaning of life.

Believing in Christ, we receive His gift of eternal life. All that God has for us becomes ours. We must keep on drinking, keep on believing, and God will keep on giving!

Finally, while we look for gifts to give, remember that the greatest thing we can do is to tell about Christ. Through Christ others can have the greatest gifts! Their lives will be filled with eternal life.

The reason that we are here, according to Christianity, is that God created us to have a relationship with him. This is why God created a universe fit for human life, and why he laid down guidelines for how to live our lives. According to Christianity, each one of us is created for communion with God; God wants to know us, to love us, and to rejoice with us.

Thank you! Remember that

God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.
